Following her two recent Grammy Nominations of her 2024, album ‘VANTABLACK’, for R&B Album, as well as for the song ‘No Lie’ feat. The ‘Returning’ remix feat. Robert Glasper and Amber Navran-produced remix for ‘#BITMFW’ offer laid back moods, whilst new biting, tribal-meets-industrial, single ‘Poison + The Cure’ and its accompanying music video ring with artistic statement and rebellion: a departure and fresh-feel for five-time Grammy-winning Lalah Hathaway.

Recognized alongside the titans of music, Lalah and Beyoncé hold the tied record for most Traditional R&B Performance Grammys ever won. Each of Lalah Hathaway’s solo albums of the last ten years has been Grammy-nominated in the Best R&B Album category, with a win going to ‘Lalah Hathaway Live’ in 2017, a personalized ode to her father’s iconic live album. Lalah’s latest album, Grammy-nominated ‘VANTABLACK’, and the title’s very definition as the darkest shade of the color black in existence, encapsulates Lalah’s outlook in recent years, that she feels “the blackest I’ve ever been”.
